Visiting Researcher Programme
Latvijas Banka offers the opportunity for external researchers, including scientists, postdoctoral fellows, and doctoral students, to visit Latvijas Banka. During their visit, researchers develop a research project on topics relevant to the central bank, such as monetary policy, financial markets, fiscal policy, etc. Preference is given to candidates proposing to implement projects on the following topics:
- the monetary policy transmission;
- the economic impact of climate change (structural and/or empirical research).
The applicants must be fluent in English.
Duration of the programme
The application deadline for the programme is not limited. The duration of the visit is flexible and usually extends to a couple of weeks.
Expected outcome
The results of the research project are presented at the internal research seminar of Latvijas Banka. If the research publication criteria are met, it is also expected that the results of the project will be presented and published in Latvijas Banka's working paper series and a scientific journal.
Work environment
Visiting researchers will be affiliated with the Research Division of the Monetary Policy Department of Latvijas Banka. They will be provided with office space and access to research databases. Visiting researchers are also entitled to remuneration in line with Latvijas Banka's compensation scheme.
